Resident Evil 4 + Code Veronica HD Remake on the way?

The latest craze in the gaming industry is to take an older, successful franchise and to remodel it to fit today’s standards of gaming with improved framerates and glossy graphics. We’ve seen Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Team ICO, Tomb Raider, God of War and Sly Cooper all take this route in recent times and all have been or will be quite successful re-releases to the general public. This is obviously due to gamers being too young to have played the games when they originally released and now being given the chance to finally experience them or due to older gamers wanting to relive the nostalgia they once had.

Regardless, Famitsu Magazine (thanks for Adriasang) has revealed that Capcom may have plans to re-release both Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica in an HD package. Furthermore, there is possibility that Resident Evil 4’s Separate Ways may also be included in the package.

While Captivate, Capcom’s own industry event, won’t take place for another month. We’re going to go ahead and mark this rumor as having a lot of truth behind it. After all, re-releases like this are a quick and efficient way to make a few bucks and they’re definitely proving to be lucrative.
