Today, SEGA released the debut trailer for its upcoming Sonic title, Sonic Generations. While most gamers probably just let out one of the biggest facepalms in existence, don’t start judging until you see the trailer. Oddly enough, it almost feels and looks as though Sonic is truly going back to its roots for this iteration of our friendly hedgehog.

I know that the company has let down many fans in the past with its changes and new styles, but something tells me that Sonic Generations may just be an HD version of the Sonic we grew to love as kids — which is saying something.
