Dust 514 is an upcoming free-to-play Massively Multiplayer Online First-Person Shooter. If that was a little hard to follow, it’s called an MMOFPS or a game with lots of players that shoot at each other. The game is set to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive and will also feature integration with the massively successful MMO space combat game, Eve Online for PC. Players will be able to interact with one another in meta-game ways (such as Eve players attacking planets that Dust players may be stationed on in real-time.)

It’s an ambitious project, to be sure, and the next step in preparing for a real launch is the open beta period that starts next week on January 22nd. Anyone will be able to download and try out the game, but keep in mind: it is still in its testing period and is not finished.
