As they did with NBA Jam, EA Sports is taking a former Midway arcade sports franchise and re-envisioning it for our modern sensibilities. After an all-too-long absence, NFL Blitz is making a triumphant return to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Unlike the lukewarm Madden Arcade from a couple of years ago, NFL Blitz brings back the 7-on-7, 1st-and-30 action that made the game such a hit in the late ’90s. But because we’re in 2011 and not 1999, the game will also feature online multiplayer and plenty of additional modes.
