Sony has announced gold status for Resistance 3, and has celebrated by releasing a new trailer for Insomniac’s hotly anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter.

In it, we see protagonist Joseph Capelli leave his family in Oklahoma in a bid to reach New York City and take down the Chimera. It’s a brilliant trailer – that must be said.

Furthermore, Sony will be packing a few extra pieces of content onto the Resistance 3 disc, including playable demos for Killzone 3, Motorstorm: Apocalypse and inFAMOUS 2, as well as a number of trailers and developer videos for some top PlayStation titles.

Resistance 3 launches for PS3 on September 6 in North America, and September 9 across Europe. Watch the new trailer below.
