In a recent interview with PlayStation Magazine 3, Quantic Dream’s frontman, David Cage, discussed Heavy Rain and the steamy topic of sex in video games.
As a lot of you are aware, there was some concern over whether or not Heavy Rain would be censored outside of Europe due to its adult content and mature themes — after all, its predecessor, Indigo Prophecy, wasn’t in its entirety when released in North America. However, Sony and Quantic have confirmed that Heavy Rain will not be censored anywhere in the world, relieving gamers entirely.
With this news out of the way, Cage has explained that the sex scenes depicted within Heavy Rain are anything but porn. Cage insists that the actions taking place within the game are “about real characters doing what adults do when they fall in love”.
“There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it’s definitely not porn,” he said.
“We don’t intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It’s about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love.”
I’d just like to point out that it’s awesome that Sony and Quantic are not going to tamper with the gaming art form when it comes to Heavy Rain. This title is undoubtedly a piece of art and it should change the way a lot of companies look at story-driven titles. February can’t get here soon enough.
Awesome. I can’t wait to get some pr0nz in mah Heavy Rain.
Hot coffee mode FTW!!!
