Gearbox gearing up for more Borderlands DLC

One of my favorite words after playing Borderlands for the first time late last year was “loots.” I’d use it in every day speech because, let’s face it, after playing Borderlands for 8-10 hours straight, all you can even think about is that next loots pile you’re going to rummage in for future success.

Thankfully, Gearbox Software has done everything they can to further the playing time of its brand new IP via downloadable content and according to Randy Pitchford, that support is going to continue.

“We are investing a lot of time in supporting the game with free updates and paid downloadable content. There will be some announcements on both fronts soon, I expect,” Pitchford said in an interview with IGN. “We have a lot of motivation to do more with the game and have a lot of lessons we’re applying not only to our immediate efforts, but to our ambitions for the future. I don’t have anything specifics to announce at this time, though.”

While it’s difficult to discern whether or not those free updates will include actual content, Borderlands is the type of title that you feel good throwing cash at for DLC, so it’s pretty irrelevant.

We’re excited to see what else these guys have in store for us. After having to kill off zo many zombies, it can only mean great things are coming.
