Lara Croft lands 6 Guinness World Records

In news that many of you probably won’t care about, Lara Croft, the illustrious female heroine of the Tomb Raider franchise, has nabbed another six Guinness World Records today.

With the release of the 2010 edition of the Video Games Guinness Book of World Records, Lara Croft has showed exactly how to transcend a medium and become bigger than life itself. As of today, Lara is now recognized as “Most Successful Video Game Heroine,” “Most Recognizable Female Character in a Video Game” and “Most Detailed Video Game Character” while the Tomb Raider franchise has set new records as “Highest Grossing Computer Game Spin Off,” “Most Successful Live-Action Transfer” and “Most Official Real Life Stand-Ins in a Video Game”.

While none of these are unexpected or that mind blowing, it’s good to see that the industry is still pumping out love for a franchise that seems to on the downside of its existence.

If any other important records were broken, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Screw Nathan Drake! I mean, he’s cool and all, but you can’t beat Lara! Beat off to her, definitely, but beat her? No way in hell.
