This title would be a lot more surprising if 360 was placed at the end of it, but as expected, the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII is the superior version this time around.
According to NowGamer.com, who has played through both retail version of FFXIII, the Xbox 360 version has some slight differences in quality in comparison to its competitor on PlayStation 3.
- While facial detail appears largely unchanged, the characters’ clothes appear at first glance to be lacking finer details, with notably lower resolution textures.
- Incidental environmental objects and enemies appear less detailed, both in texture and geometry.
- The game’s CG is extremely compressed and pales alongside the stunning HD goodness which blu-ray offers.
To be honest, this might actually be why Microsoft is pushing the title so hard through advertisements and site takeovers. If they’re delivering the inferior product, they may need to push their version that much harder in order to top the PlayStation 3 version in sales.

I think it’s hilarious. One of the few rare times the PS3 version is for once (redundant, I know) blatantly better, and the DC in some areas are off the hook. XD
Its cause the PS3 was lead and Blu Ray was used as well. Any game that uses the PS3 as lead will most likely look better or be completely identical. So no surprise here.
I can only wonder what it would be like if FF was a exclusive for PS3 and not held back to be playable on the 360

Not surprised at all, and I also read in a IGN preview that they said the PS3 version looked a bit crisper a while back.
This doesn’t effect me at all, as I’ve planned on getting it on the PS3 all along.
yep, i saw the pics on kotaku earlier today…the 360’s version looks MUCH worse than the PS3’s
it seems a bit worse than the port of Bayonetta from 360-PS3 :\
but it doesnt matter too much because i wont be getting this game anyways lol….the characters dont seem too great…ill wait for Agito and Versus

I’m glad to see that Final Fantasy 13 on the PS3 will be better than the Xbox 360. The PS3 has a lot more processing power than the Xbox 360 and this game shows the difference between the two consoles.
