What is The 7th Guest Remake?

Developed by Vertigo Games and Exkee, The 7th Guest Remake is a brand new version of the puzzle-laden adventure game that was originally released in 1993. Although implemented differently from the original, the remake uses newly recorded volumetric video, bringing the actors’ live performances into the mysterious mansion.

Here is a description of The 7th Guest Remake, giving adventure game enthusiasts an idea of what to expect from the new release:

“Six guests have been welcomed to a foreboding mansion, but something sinister is at play. The wealthy recluse and toymaker Henry Stauf lurks in the shadows, and a dark power hangs over the house, shrouded in mystery. Who is the seventh guest? What does Henry want with them? And who will live to tell the tale?”

The 7th Guest Remake for the PS5 costs $19.99 on the PS Store. For those who already own The 7th Guest VR, they will receive the remake for free. Anyone who purchases The 7th Guest Remake will receive The 7th Guest VR for free. To put it more simply, you’ll get two games for the price of one.

The 7th Guest falls into the same realm as legendary PC games like Myst. It is often considered influential for its time, as it was one of the first games to be available only on CD-ROM. It has received several different versions since its release, including the aforementioned VR version, which is available for PS VR.
