A fan-favorite PS Vita and PS4 exclusive series is losing online support after more than a decade, signaling the end of an era. Media Molecule’s Tearaway (2013) and Tearaway Unfolded (2015) were single-player games that offered a nice online companion service that allowed players to create profiles, upload and share photos, unlock papercrafts, and much more.
Announcement of Tearaway (PS Vita) & Tearaway Unfolded (PS4) ending online support went unnoticed
Tearaway.me, the hub for all the aforementioned things, is being taken offline permanently on August 13, 2026. The announcement was published on Media Molecule’s website a month ago, but it wasn’t until now that players noticed, thanks to a ResetEra user.
The good news is that players will still be able to access papercrafts via Media Molecule’s website. However, you will no longer be able to upload any photos, and your online profiles and photos won’t be accessible, so it’s best to download what you want to save.
Due to Tearaway.me going offline, both games will experience some functional issues, like error messages in some instances. But nothing will affect gameplay or your ability to play the games and earn trophies.
In the same update mentioned above, Media Molecule has listed all the points in Tearaway and Tearaway Unfolded where players are likely to receive error messages.
