Publisher Electronic Arts is shutting down a fan-favorite PS5 and PS4 game in just 4.5 years. Developed by Codemasters, Grid Legends launched to positive reviews in 2022. The game will be severely gutted later this year, losing all of its online features, like cross-play.
Grid Legends PS5, PS4 servers shutting down in September 2026
In a notice published on the PS Store, EA says that Grid Legends servers will shut down on September 11, 2026.
“On this date, cross-platform play, online multiplayer modes, Quick Race, Dynamic Events, leaderboards, and other features that require an online connection will no longer be available to play in Grid Legends,” the company wrote.
Players will be left with the single-player campaign.
EA hasn’t confirmed if Grid Legends will be delisted at some point, but given that it’ll be losing a chunk of its features, it’s highly likely that it will. Unfortunately, the game isn’t on sale at the moment.
Grid Legends holds a Metacritic average of 76/100 on the PS5. The game fared better with players, earning 4.02/5 stars on the PS Store based on over 7,000 verified votes. As a reminder, only those who purchase a game can rate it on the PS Store.
We’ll update our readers if Grid Legends goes on sale and/or if we spot a delisting notice.
