90s PS1 3D fighting game Tekken comes to PS5 as part of Arcade Archives 2
Developer Hamster announced that Arcade Archives 2 Tekken will bring the iconic Tekken into the fold of the Arcade Archives 2. The game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, 2026, for $16.99.
As is the case with many of Hamster’s additions to the Arcade Archives, Tekken will feature two different modes, an Original Mode that finds a variety of new and convenient features that make the game a bit more modern. This includes difficulty and display settings, button remapping, and more. Another mode, Time Attack Mode, will allow players to try and complete the game as fast as possible.
The Arcade Archives series is developed with the idea of trying to faithfully reproducing classic arcade games, and has seen a litany of older games brought back to the modern day for fans to check out.
Originally released in 1994, Tekken was developed and published by Namco, and kickstarted the iconic franchise which remains to this day. The game was originally Namco’s answer to Virtua Fighter, and designed by Seiichi Ishii, who worked on Virtua Fighter during his time at Sega.
