If a new rumor is to be believed, not only will GTA 6 get a PS5 disc release after all, but it’ll also come sooner than you expect. This report comes from the same insider who originally revealed that GTA 6 will not be available physically at launch, which turned out to be true, much to fans’ dismay.

Polish site PPE.pl seems to have a well-connected retail source who claims that GTA 6 will be available physically in December 2026, weeks after its November 19 launch, and just in time for the prime holiday season.

As mentioned above, this is the same person who first revealed that there won’t be a GTA 6 disc at launch because Rockstar Games wants to combat leaks and broken street dates. We have reason to believe that they’ve got this right.

For starters, when Take-Two Interactive was initially asked about the rumored lack of GTA 6 discs, the company denied the claim and explicitly stated that the game would be available on disc. What Take-Two didn’t mention at the time was that the disc release would be slightly delayed. However, the company’s denial was misconstrued by many, and PPE.pl’s report was unfairly dismissed.

Secondly, having one of the biggest games of the generation available on disc in time for the holiday makes a lot of sense. GTA 6 will likely be one of the most popular gifts worldwide this Christmas.

That said, take everything with a grain of salt for now.
