After a month of silence, Sony Interactive Entertainment has quietly fixed a major PS5 feature that went down after a bizarre PS Store glitch. As we previously reported, players’ gameplay data was wiped from PS5’s “Recently Played” section, sparking numerous conspiracy theories. Turns out, Sony was just taking its sweet time.

PS5’s Recently Played feature fixed, player data restored

Sometime around June 15, players suddenly started seeing raunchy games in their libraries and in the Recently Played section that they hadn’t purchased. Sony took the feature down to fix the problem, and when it returned, it was missing players’ gameplay data from the past two months.

I noticed this morning that on the PS App, all my missing stats have now been restored and are accurate. On the PS5 console, the Recently Played widget in the Welcome Hub is also fully functional.

All’s well that ends well, but it shouldn’t take this long for Sony to fix network issues, especially as the company pursues a digital-only future. Sony’s communication, or lack thereof, also needs attention. The company seems to have a zero communication policy when it comes to its community.

Is the PS5’s Recently Played feature now fixed for our readers? Let us know in the comments below if you notice any discrepancies.
