Sucker Punch Productions’ award-winning PlayStation 5 exclusive has locked its release date for a brand new story expansion. The upcoming update will mark the one-year anniversary of the game’s original release.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is going to release soon, featuring a new story expansion titled Echoes of Sekigahara. Additionally, the Complete Edition introduces a brand-new single-player combat survival mode titled Most Wanted. PlayStation 5 players who haven’t experienced the game will now get to play it in its full glory.
What to expect from Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition?
The narrative expansion Echoes of Sekigahara splits its storyline between the present day in Ezo and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. Players will encounter Nagato, a key figure from Atsu’s past who arrives in Ezo seeking her out.
In the present timeline, players will explore an unseen valley that was previously inhabited by The Snake and his gang of loyal followers, the Vipers. In the past, players experienced Atsu’s time in the Battle of Sekigahara.
They will also get to witness a very important moment in her life before she came back home for her quest for vengeance. The story expansion will unleash new enemies and also new heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and much more, according to the official PlayStation blog.
Then, there’s also the Most Wanted mode, a single-player combat survival mode that serves as the studio’s take on a roguelike. Basically, it will require players to accept bounties to begin new runs. They will earn perks for taking down enemies while also unlocking additional playable characters.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, with the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and Most Wanted mode, will release for PlayStation 5 on October 1, 2026.
The Complete Edition will be available for $69.99 for new players and $14.99 for those who already own the base game and want to upgrade.
