Those looking forward to the next mainline game in the PlayStation exclusive Horizon series will be disappointed by the latest Bloomberg report. According to the outlet, Horizon 3 is nowhere near release and still only has a “tiny team” working on the project.

In his new report, known insider and journalist Jason Schreier also shed more light on Sony’s disastrous live service push, with Horizon Hunters Gathering the latest in line undergoing an overhaul.

Following Horizon Forbidden West, a “majority” of Guerrilla Games staff moved to work on the multiplayer game, only for Horizon Hunters Gathering failing to impress. Now, the game is undergoing a reboot of sorts, and while it’s not yet canceled, its developers have been told that they have until December to “impress executives with their next milestone.”

As part of the process, Horizon Hunters Gathering’s live service elements are being dropped in favor of a more traditional co-op multiplayer experience alongside a story mode. The project’s scope has narrowed down, as a result.

As for Horizon 3, if Bloomberg’s report is true, we won’t be seeing the game until the PS6. Schreier’s update also means that the next mainline entry won’t release on disc.
