An upcoming PlayStation 5 remake of an iconic PSP RPG has locked in its official release date. The game is co-developed by Meteorise and TYPE-MOON and published by Aniplex.
Fate/Extra Record will release on January 28, 2027, for PS5, alongside PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The remake is full of high-stakes battles set within a digital realm hidden on the Moon. It will also mark the return of the original Fate series, reports Gematsu.
Fate/Extra Record is an enhanced version of 2010’s Fate/Extra, which was initially launched for PlayStation Portable.
What can players expect from Fate/Extra Record?
Fate/Extra Record will see players fighting for survival in the Holy Grail War, where Masters and their Servants clash over the Holy Grail. It’s an omnipotent artifact, believed to grant any wish.
An official description for the PS5 remake reads, “Set within SE.RA.PH, a vast digital world hidden on the moon, 128 Master-Servant pairs battle in a deadly contest fueled by their bonds and deepest desires. In the end, whose wish will the Holy Grail grant?”
In the upcoming RPG, players will take on the role of a Master and team up with a powerful ally known as a Servant to join the Holy Grail War, a tournament with the Holy Grail as its prize.
Fate/Extra Record is packed with highly strategic command battles. The combat experience features custom decks with Command cards. Decks are completely different depending on the contracted servant.
Each Servant the players contract has unique appearances and abilities, making deck-building strategy crucial to winning the Holy Grail War.
During the battles, players can construct their deck with a wide variety of Commands to handle any opponent. Plus, the fast-paced action and spectacular skill animations make for a satisfying victory celebration.
Fate/Extra Record releases on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 28, 2027.
