PS5 players can now try an upcoming remaster of a fan-favorite PS2 hack-and-slash action game via the PS Store. Koei Tecmo has dropped a free demo for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, and it’s not locked behind a PS Plus subscription.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings the beloved 2001 PS2 game to PS5 soon

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is billed as a revival of Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends. The remaster will launch on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The demo lets PS5 players experience a special version of the Battle of Hulao Gate while playing as Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhen Ji, Zhou Yu, and Sun Shangxiang. Save data cannot be carried over to the full game, and some elements of the demo may differ from the final product.

Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster demo comes with difficulty settings.

“Play as more than 40 different officers in the world of the Three Kingdoms, taking on thrilling and tactical battles of 1 vs. 1,000 on vast battlefields,” an official overview reads. “The Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends expansion features new stories for seven officers, including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao, as well as bodyguard customization, new weapons, and four types of challenge modes, providing even more gameplay to enjoy.”

PS Plus Premium members can cloud stream the demo.
