God of War Laufey will be open for pre-orders on the PlayStation 5 tomorrow, September 29, 2026. The pre-orders include a slew of in-game bonuses revealed by Santa Monica Studio.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will also be made available when pre-orders go live at 10:00 local time tomorrow. The Digital Deluxe Edition also boasts its own bonus material. The studio also introduced a brand-new weapon that Faye could wield in the game during the announcement.
Upon pre-ordering the game, players would receive the following:
- Last Wish Armor Set*
- Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance* (cosmetic)
- In-game resource pack
God of War Laufey Deluxe Edition has bonus material not included in the standard pre-order. It boasts the following additional items:
- Dark Alchemy Armor Set*
- Dark Alchemy Blade*
- Dark Alchemy Bow Scales*
- Dark Alchemy Catalyst*
- In-Game Resource Pack
- Digital Mini Artbook
- Official God of War Laufey Digital Soundtrack
The reveal also showed screenshots from the game, along with combat gameplay featuring the new item introduced in the announcement.
New gameplay reveals how Faye’s Serpent Bow changes combat
The newest addition to Faye’s arsenal in Everywhen is the Serpent Bow. Serving a function similar to the Draupnir Spear, the Serpent Bow aids Faye in both close-quarters and ranged combat. The weapon comes with two modes: precision and hip-fire.
The precision mode can be activated by fully pressing down the aim trigger. It can be used to impair enemies with strikes, allowing players to land blows using the Serpent Bow or other melee weapons at their disposal. The mode also allows Faye to stack up to five arrows together to launch a volley at enemies, juggling them.
The hip-fire mode is activated by only half-pressing the trigger. This mode can be used to fire a quick, close-range shot that still deals significant damage to enemies. This mode is designed to help players perform combos and juggle enemies in the air.
Apart from the two modes, players will also have the option to use a variety of shots. The bow also comes with different types of Scales that can be equipped according to the player’s playstyle. Over the course of the game, new skills can be unlocked with the Serpent Bow.
The game is set to release on February 16, 2027.
