An ESRB rating might have just confirmed the PlayStation 5 release of a hit 2025 co-op game. Developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall, Peak might finally get a console release after having previously released on Windows exclusively.
A post on ESRB‘s website rated the game E10+, with the platform for the particular post listed as the PS5. The game is flagged only for “Fantasy Violence” and “Users Interact.” The description under the rating reads, “This is a co-op adventure game in which players control a character stranded on a mysterious island. From a first-person perspective, players work with other players to climb mountains, collect tools and items, and help each other to survive.”
What players can expect from Peak’s co-op gameplay
Published by Aggro Crab and Landfall Games, Peak is played from the first-person perspective. Its core mechanic bills it as a co-op climbing game, with players assuming the roles of castaway scouts. Players must climb a randomly pre-generated mountain, which changes its layout daily, in order to get rescued following a plane crash.
Players can communicate with each other via proximity chat. It supports up to four players scaling the levels together. The game also has a stamina bar that each player needs to manage. Depending on several factors, such as environment, weight of items being carried, hunger, injury, and poison, the stamina bar may shrink in capacity.
If the stamina of a player gives out completely, they become unconscious. It falls to members of the squad to revive the player quickly. Failing to do so results in the character dying. Littered around the game world are consumables that can give players bonuses.
Peak has been a popular PC title that fans have wanted for the PlayStation for quite some time. While there is no release date announced by the publishers of the game, the ESRB rating all but confirms that an announcement might be right around the corner.
