Two additional expansion packs are available for players. These are Back 4 Blood’s second and third expansions. The second DLC was titled Children of the Worm and added a brand-new campaign to the game, Act 5. It also introduced a new character in Prophet Dan, a “gun-toting, self-proclaimed preacher of the end times.” The expansion also came with bonus material, such as eight exclusive pre-Collapse character skins, 12 exclusive 8-Bit weapon skins, and new weapons.

The second expansion was titled River of Blood, serving as the final DLC. It added Act 6 to the story campaign. The expansion introduced the character of Tala, a “former Cultist Outcast now turned Cleaner.” It also introduced Jeff, “a friendly Tallboy who is summoned when using the whistle.” The DLC included eight character skins as well, along with twelve exclusive weapon skins. It also came with new weapons, accessories, and cards.

The third DLC also came with a brand new Trial of the Worm mode. This was described as a “new co-operative PvE mode free to all players, where players choose their path down a four-map chain while earning points along the way.”
