A new PlayStation 5 life simulation game that combines the cozy routines of rural living with an unsettling hidden mystery is available on the PlayStation Store. Developed by NIS America, Inc., the game is available on PS5, other modern consoles, and PC.

On October 27, 2026, it was announced that a new cozy game called Village in the Shade is available for purchase on the PlayStation Store. Gamers can purchase the Standard Edition for $49.99 on the official website. Moreover, a Digital Deluxe Edition is also available for $64.99. The latter edition includes the game, an art book, and soundtracks.

Village in the Shade is also available on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. PC gamers can purchase it on Steam. Along with the announcement, a launch trailer was released, which you can watch below. The trailer introduces the cozy gameplay and three key rules gamers must keep in mind.

What to expect from Village in the Shade on PS5?

The newly launched PlayStation 5 game introduces players to Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village with multiple secrets lurking in the shadows. It is a hand-painted farming simulation game where gamers must plant crops, customize their homestead, and befriend other villagers who serve as intriguing characters.

Gamers can also relax in-game by enjoying the peaceful brook, watching cherry blossoms with friends, or simply strolling around the village. However, they must survive the night by following three important rules: don’t talk to strangers, don’t leave the village, and don’t go outside after 11 PM.

If players break these rules, the game takes a darker turn, and they can explore the village at night to uncover Kagatsu’s hidden secrets. That said, Village in the Sunshine mode is available for gamers who want to enjoy quiet countryside living. In this mode, they can farm, hunt, fish, and interact with others at their own pace without risk.
