What to expect from HorrorVale: Deadluxe Edition on PS5
The game offers a traditional role-playing experience with turn-based combat and horror-inspired elements. Players step into the shoes of Alice, who journeys through the underworld to save her zombie dog, Scruffy, from strange monsters invading the once-peaceful town of HorrorVale. The game spans 60 hours overall, including 25 hours of the main quest.
“Your next-door neighbors are zombies, reanimated monsters deliver the mail and ghosts hide out in your bathroom. Don’t worry about anybody you kill along the way—everyone is already dead! Muahahha!” reads the game’s description.
The game features more than 500 enemies with unique mechanics. Players can also recruit more than 30 characters, each with unique abilities and personalities. Their personal stories are explored through 60 side quests. A shared XP system allows players to experiment with different characters without worrying about losing their progress.
According to Electric Airship, the game features a massive original soundtrack with 170 tracks and revised hand-made art created exclusively for home consoles. The soundtrack features music by Grant Kirkhope, known for his work on Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country.
HorrorVale: Deadluxe Edition is also available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game’s Halloween-season release makes it a timely addition to the horror lineup.
