Each year, one of the biggest crazes around the sports gaming industry is the announcement of the cover athletes for NCAA Football and Madden Football. While Madden has always gone with just a lone gunman on the front cover, in recent year, NCAA Football has picked 3-4 players to represent each platform.
Today, ESPN and Donny Moore revealed that one of the NCAA Football 11 covers this year will feature Tim Tebow. Of course, this is as obvious as them announcing mascot inclusion in NCAA Football as well. It’s no secret that no athlete has ever received the circle jerk to the level of Tim Tebow and you can expect it to continue well into his NFL career.
Here is an excerpt from the interview with Donny Moore:
“Tebow will be the best trucking quarterback in ‘Madden’ this year,” said Donny Moore after the meeting. “He’s not the most elusive, but in terms of breaking tackles and power, he will be able to put down his shoulder and run over a few defenders. A lot of this is fluid, but right now in ‘Madden 11,’ we have Tebow at 80 speed and 92 acceleration. Trucking, carrying the ball, like I said, he’s going to be better than any quarterback coming into the league.”
So either, Tim Tebow is the new Michael Vick from 2004 — which will ruin the game for tons of online players or he’ll be evened out with his other abilities to make it enjoyable to at least play against him (unlike in NCAA).
Are the NCAA games better than Madden?
Played neither game but i think its better to have more than one player on the front cover so that it shows lots of the stars to show people all the teams available to play.
lol bad choice imo
i think NCAA’s gameplay doesnt seem as appealing…oh so my couin says…but the new one coming out actually looks pretty damn good
who is the publisher for this game ESPN? And even i think its better to have a star on the Box of a sports game
I love the NCAA football games. Too bad I can’t be cheap and use Tebow and the Gators anymore =(
