According to a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe representative, Sony’s PlayStation Home has no desire to leave the beta stage this year. This report comes shortly after videogamer.com hinted that there was a rumor going around to indicate otherwise.
The SCEE rep commented on the rumor with the following: “The service is still evolving and as such we have no current plans to take Home out of Beta.”
As a PlayStation 3 owner, this should be considered troubling if you have any remote concern about Home to begin with. While the software has been publicly available for over a year now, it’s ridiculous to think that Home is still not done with its beta process as of yet. For those hoping for what I guess would be considered a “full” release, you’ll have to continue to wait.
what exactly will happen when they bring ps home out of the beta. will it be a simple name change or will they add loads of stuff to it all in one go?
PS home should be in the world records book for longest beta ever!
oh and FIRST!
This beta is way too long. And the game still isn’t very good.
Home sucks, you have to pay for clothes, house, and stuff. These things should’ve been free. What a F SONY?
Home will never leave Beta stage. Keeping it as a Beta allows the designers to continually manipulate the program as they see fit, or to what the consumer wants.
I only use it on update days to check out the new content/games or play pool & poker.
Yeah I really don’t see it ever coming out of beta. If they want Home to meet some sort of quality before it makes the change… haha. I had been using Home for a while now up until a few months ago where I just gave up on it. Before that, it was exciting to just follow up on it and see how it evolved but it reached a point where Home evolving was a joke, getting more issues to pop up than resolving them. It became a very frustrating experience to see it spiral down so quickly.
