PlayStation Network Reaches New Milestone

Last night, Sony delivered its keynote speech during the start of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. As expected, the company discussed its plans for 3D technology as well as revealed a lot of cool up and coming products for that technology. However, one of the milestones Sony was most proud of was the number of PlayStation Network users it has amassed.

According to Sir Howard Stringer, the PlayStation Network has received a total of 60 million registrants.

“This is a significant base of connected products. As Godzilla once said,” Stringer added, “size does matter.”

Of course, this is without also including in the information that these figures represent the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3 and Sony internet-ready HDTVs. When you take all of that into account, it’s really hard to be impressed by these figures, but I guess it is something to be proud of.

  1. THEY SHOULD MAKE THE PS3 BETTER THAN A NETBOOK AND COMPATIBKE WITH ANY SONY TECNOLOGY AND INTERNET,ALL A BIG FAMILY

  2. It probably also doesn’t take into account same IP accounts. I have three accounts, for instance. One main account, one Japanese account and a shared account my friends and I buy PSN cards for and share the DLC for games on. Even so, this is still nice. Congrats to Sony.
