It seems that two more hit PlayStation 2 series will be making their way to the PlayStation 3; Splinter Cell, and Prince of Persia. With some trilogies already having made their way to the PS3; namely Sly Cooper and God of War, it’s no surprise that these two popular Ubisoft series are making their way to the next generation.
The Splinter Cell Trilogy will contain the full games of Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. These titles will all be compacted onto one Blu-Ray disc.
As for the Prince of Persia Trilogy, the three titles: Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia Warrior Withinand Prince of Persia The Two Thrones will all share a single disc for the first time.
In addition, each of these trilogies have been re-mastered in high-definition and will be viewable in 3D.
You can find these trilogies in your local game stores come March 22nd with a price tag of $39.99 each. The trilogies will also be made available to gamers via the PlayStation Store.
Awaiting the release of Team Ico’s games…. and an announcement for the KH games to be re-released. Not a big fan of either of the series mentioned in the article. Still cool that they’re doing this though.
Is ther already a Prince of Persia collection?
I think the disc version of that was only released in Europe. Everywhere else you could buy each individual game remastered on the PSN store for $15 a pop if I recall correctly.
Yeah the article wasn’t too clear there. They are available on PSN now (at least PoP I don’t know about SC). This was just the announcement that they are now coming on a blu-ray disk in NA. The collections and remakes themselves have been announced for awhile.
Definitely going to get the PoP games. Heard they were pretty good and I never tried them out on the PS2. Might get Splinter Cell, not really sure though. Only one I played was Chaos Theory and that was pretty cool
