An Xbox exclusive is finally coming to PlayStation 5. Forza Horizon 6 now has a release date set for Sony’s console. The game will release on January 26, 2027.
This is a delay from Playground Games’ initial plan to release the game sometime in 2026, which was first reported by leaks online. While those rumors were initially dismissed, it now appears the leaks were accurate. Speculations suggest the shift in the release date was made to avoid competition with GTA 6, which arrives on November 19, 2026.
Reports have suggested that the title is going to be priced at the same rate as its Xbox counterpart. It also states that there will be physical editions of the game released for the PlayStation 5.
With a new release date set, Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on the PS5 alongside a new expansion. The game will also have a Premium Edition that will allow players to have a whole five days of Early Access ahead of the actual release date. A pre-order will come with a pre-tuned Ferrari J50.
Forza Horizon 6 takes players across a vast open-world Japan
Forza Horizon 6 takes players to Japan, a location fans have long-awaited. Tokyo is the largest city featured, with a huge open world to explore. Forza Horizon 6 also has the biggest collection of cars that the franchise has ever had. There’s an emphasis in the game on rural and urban environments, with special attention given to Japanese car culture.
Players can engage in multiple racing formats, including road races, dirt races, cross-country events, street races, drag races, Wristband Events, and touge races. The game debuted on May 15 this year on Xbox and PC. The previous installment found a dedicated fanbase on the PS5 as well. Forza Horizon 5, which was set in Mexico, was released on the Sony console last year.
