Angry Birds takeover PlayStation Network charts

Rovio’s stellar casual mobile title, Angry Birds, seems to be doing as well in a casual sitting setting as it does on the go. According to Lazard Capital Market’s Colin Sebastian, these little pissed off bird flu candidates are tearing up the PSN like there is no tomorrow — in fact, they’ve already flown to the top of the chart.

“PSN appears to be gaining traction tapping into the casual and social gaming market with titles such as Angry Birds, which is the most downloaded game through the PSN,” said Lazard Capital Market’s Colin Sebastian. “PSN is also seeing good success with ‘freemium’ and micro-transaction models.”

It’s become apparently obvious that killing pigs anywhere is a commonly accepted past time and that everyone is getting in on the action. Are you one of the millions who have downloaded this title already? If so, what did you think of it?

  1. $4 was too much, $2 was ok. Just wish they would change the controls so you don’t have to hold l1&r1 at the same time to zoom out.
