A classic Dragon Quest game just got a fresh coat of paint. The remaster is now available on PlayStation 5 via the PS Store. The beloved entry comes from developer and publisher Square Enix.

Following a long gap of 33 years, iconic spin-off game Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon has returned with an English version for PS5 owners. Available for $24.99 on the PlayStation Store, it delivers a classic HD experience that brings nostalgia to a new generation of players.

The game recently revealed its launch trailer, teasing what fans can expect from this Dragon Quest spin-off.

Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon PlayStation 5 remaster‘s trailer sees the return of Torneko from Dragon Quest IV. He’s a man who’s determined to be the world’s greatest weapons merchant. The trailer then introduces the captivating roguelike experience that players can revisit “a thousand times” in the delightful remaster.

Inside the mystery dungeon, in search of a hidden treasure, players will witness a strange place that changes with every expedition. This means they won’t encounter the same items, same monsters, or even the same dungeon every time. The gameplay is designed in a way where every decision matters, and there’s no safety net!

The turn-based adventure requires players to defeat enemies to gain experience and level up, gather equipment and items to grow stronger, and venture deeper in search of treasure. If they get defeated in the dungeon at any point, they will lose all the collected items and restart their quest from zero.

The remaster’s gameplay features classic difficulty options. Players can customize the challenge level according to their style. The Classic HD version packs stunning visuals to bring the retro adventures to life on PS5. It features a storybook-style aesthetic, designed by illustrator Naoki Ikushima.

Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon remaster is now available for PS5, alongside Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
