Beyond Good and Evil 2 still on schedule

Late last week there was a rumor circulating that Beyond Good and Evil 2 had been canceled due to Michael Ancel leaving the development team. Today, however, Ubisoft has confirmed that not only is the sequel to the cult classic still on schedule for release, but that Ancel himself is still with the company.

According to a Ubisoft representative, “There are no changes on the horizon.” Whether or not this means we can expect B&E2 to be shown any time soon is another matter, but considering the game was announced and teased two years ago, we’re hoping this isn’t another case of Gran Turismo 5 or even worse — Duke Nukem Forever.

With E3 just around the bend and less than two full weeks away now, perhaps Ubisoft will surprise everyone with some more news and information regarding the game. If so, we’ll be covering E3 minute-by-minute as information is revealed and we’ll be hosting a Live Chat here on PlayStation University. So, be sure to drop by and discuss how you feel about the Sony conference while it’s happening.

  1. Good and Evil is back? First I was like :O and then I was like :'( and now I’m like 😀

  2. Oh thank god. I was scared for a minute there.

  3. Thank goodness… If they put this game out soon and I get the Ico/SoTC remake, I will be the happiest Sony gamer alive… Those are by far the 3 best games on a Sony system, ever, even if BG&E was multiplatform… Throw in the FF7 remake and I may just orgasm.
