Michael Pachter recently stated that Borderlands was being sent out to greener pastures to be shot and killed. Fortunately for Gearbox Software, the only death Borderlands is facing is the inability to keep the game in stock long enough for people to buy their copy. At the midnight release for the developer community event, I know that over 250 copies were sold that night alone at one store. So, when Robert Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, tweeted the following message, it came as no surprise.

“Getting reports from everywhere that Borderlands is selling out,” Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford tweets. “Supply and demand.”

It’s great to see a local developer of mine get so much love from gamers out there and I can confirm that Borderlands is definitely a title worth purchasing. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, I suggest doing so as soon as possible.

  1. The question is, how many copies were shipped?

  2. I had my copy pre-ordered for months…once I heard of the weapons creator bot made in the game for endless different guns I was sold. And I wasn’t dissappointed, this game is awsome on the PS3. I own a Elite but switched it up, once I got a slim.

I reserved a copy with GameStop so I could get the bonus weapons, but I can’t pick the game up until Friday. I hope they don’t run out of bonuses like they did with Prototype and almost did with Halo 3: ODST (I got the last bonus).
