If you’ve been following the UK weekly sales charts, you’ve noticed that when it comes to video games, Call of Duty: Black Ops has pretty much toppled the charts every single week since its release. In fact, if pre-orders were accepted as a sale, it probably would have been on top even longer. However, in the 52nd week of 2010 — which is the last — Black Ops was finally toppled by its fiercest competitor.
Surprisingly enough, the new sales champion wasn’t a new release either. Instead, it was the insanely popular title published by EA Sports known as FIFA 11. It’s also worth noting that Microsoft’s marketing of Kinect finally paid off in the game department as Dance Central and Kinect Sports both climbed the charts with both finishing out the year in the Top 10.
Check out the Top 10 below.
01. FIFA 11 (EA)
02. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision)
03. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (EA)
04. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft)
05. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
06. Kinect Sports (Microsoft)
07. Gran Turismo 5 (Sony)
08. The Sims 3 (EA)
