Recent news has surfaced that is sure to crush the hearts of millions as one of Atlus’ upcoming titles may not be localized to North America or Europe. I’m of course talking about its adult thriller known simply as, Catherine. To be honest, I expect this to be a cult blow to the industry as many gamers have been intrigued by the niche setup that Atlus has utilized to market and push Catherine to the forefront of the industry.
Unfortunately, according to a PR representative that recently spoke with BeefJack, it’s unlikely we’re going to see a North American release any time soon.
“Catherine is a Japan-only game and there are no plans for a NA release at this time. Sorry about that!” an Atlus PR representative told BeefJack.
Catherina released last week in Japan for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Hopefully Atlus will come to its senses and localize the project as soon as possible.
