COD: Black Ops to lack co-op feature for campaign

In a recent chat with MTV Multiplayer, Treyarch’s Mark Lamia has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature a full length single-player experience without the intrusion of co-op gameplay. This is the same route that Infinity Ward took with Modern Warfare 2 when offering co-op as a standalone feature with its own game mode. Unfortunately, Treyarch is following in those footsteps, but more than likely won’t have the same type of success.

“Single-player is the epic, cinematic, seat-of-your-pants thrill ride that you star in,” said Lamia, during a chat with MTV Multiplayer. “Then there’s multiplayer, when you want to play competitive with your friends and really chisel and hone your skills and do that addictive experience.”

Of course, I could be wrong as Lamia has stated that the co-op will be something we’re not expecting.

“And then co-op is for when you want to have a blast with your friends, just sitting on the couch and having an awesome co-op experience. We’re crafting unique co-op modes around that experience, but it is different than what people think,” he said.

What would you guys like to see in your Co-op gameplay options?

  1. I’m glad Treyarch is doing this. Co-op where it doesn’t belong really reduces how awesome a single-player campaign can be.

  2. im confused is this basically sayin there will not be a zombie based game mode?
