Today, Sony has revealed that a new CONTRA title will be hitting the PlayStation Network for download during the upcoming Winter of 2010. It isn’t stated whether or not this will be an exclusive Store title or not, but we’re sure that you’ll be impressed by the screenshot that was released in order to show the game off.

Anyone else excited to get their hands on this bad boy?
Very certain that this was announced to appear on both the PS3 and 360. Excited to see how it turns out but for now, I’m not really expecting much of it. Maybe once I see it in motion, I’ll change my mind but just looking at that screenshot, I can barely tell it’s supposed to be Contra other than maybe the weapon selector at the top of the screen. It better have online co-op by the way!

I love the old Contra titles so any game that continues that trend is a welcome addition to my game collection. By the way, the game is being developed by Arc System Works (The same developer that made Guilty Gear and BlazBlue), so we can expect SUPER AWESOME sprites.
