Square Enix has decided to reward those loyal PlayStation owners and Final Fantasy fans by providing them with a unique code inside their game cases. While these codes are in limited supply and only the first run of orders will contain them, they should had a little extra incentive to pick up the PlayStation 3 version.

Inside each copy is a code that you can redeem on the Official Square Enix Members website in order to gain an in-game item for Final Fantasy XIV upon release. Furthermore, you will also be given the opportunity to win the chance to beta test the game for PlayStation 3.

Players who purchase a copy of FINAL FANTASY XIII for PS3 will receive a FINAL FANTASY XIV secret in-game item and be able to enter for a potential opportunity to become a beta tester for FINAL FANTASY XIV for PS3.

Sony suggests checking out the Official US Blog regularly for updates about in regards to this opportunity.

  1. so, its a free item ? that we can’t use until a game that is barely in alpha build is released ? but its free, so i shouldn’t really criticise.

  2. That’s cool. Too bad I won’t get it since I’m not picking up FFXIII until much later on, and even then it’ll only be a rental.

  3. Is this really news? They did the same with the Japanese version, I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it here as well.

  4. WOW!…Really? I wonder how long before I see FFIV. I’d Say about 5 years from now. It should have of been for FFXIII: Versus or Agito….oh well. Just like Square to keep people waiting.

Pretty cool for Playstation Owners, but I probably won’t be picking up the game anytime soon, Guess i’m missing out on this one. ( Ps3 HAS TOO MANY GAMES I CAN”T KEEP UP!)

Picked up the game today and was wondering what this was about. While I’m not interested in Final Fantasy XIV, getting a chance at beta testing it just to see what it’s about would be a nice bonus and who knows, maybe just enough to convince me to buy it. I doubt it though since I’ve never been in the whole MMORPG thing.

  7. Im glad they gave a incentive to buy the ps3 version. Here in the UK i keep seeing adverts which are for xbox and im like wheres sony trying to big their consle up for the game? Free stuff is always welcome šŸ™‚

  8. wow can somebody go ahead and share the code with me if you get it? šŸ˜€

im not getting XIII….but i would like to try out XIV tho

  9. I saw this inside my game case and wondered what the hell it was, lol. Too bad I have absolute zero interest in FFXIV.

  10. Yeah, I saw have this in my copy of Final Fantasy XIII as well and loving it up until now :D. Good to know what it actually will give me so I’ll just give it to my friend who loves MMORPGs :-)… Such a nice friend I am XD. j/k

  11. pretty nice of them, of course i have my money set for GOW 3 so im not sure

  12. Awesome, but does it apply to EU copies as well?

  13. I will be Pissed if they release this before Versus, But good to hear Square Enix is giving PS owners a nice incentive, it would have been better if we would have got the lightning bundle (is that something from sony)

  14. They did the same for 360 owners, so =P to you ps3 guys

  15. I entered the code into the website and all it said was “More information will be released on the in-game item at the Final Fantasy XII website.” I went there and there was nothing!

    What the crap?

  16. if I wanted to play an online game on my ps3 …. I would use my computer thats hooked up

  17. This weblog is merely superb, I assumed I do know a great deal, but Iā€™m so mistaken, like the previous saying the more you already know, the added you obtain out how little you know. Thanks for the info.
