Are you getting tired of having to swap discs every time you feel like streaming Netflix to your PlayStation 3? I am too. Thankfully, starting on October 18th, PlayStation 3 users will no longer need a disc to stream the online video service, but instead will be able to so without having to get up off the couch to make that switch.
Announced today, Sony revealed on its official blog that along with this upgrade in Netflix capability, users are also receiving a completely redesigned menu experience that will allow for 1080P streaming, Dolby 5.1 sound, and the option to utilize subtitles — currently making it the only console on the market being able to do so.

I’ve had it here in Canada for about a week. Really like the service so far. For a free month and only $7.99 every month after is a good deal. Selection is not the greatest here in The Great White North though.
