Dreamlike visuals in new Outland video for PSN

Dead Nation developer Housemarque has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming PSN title Outland.

Judging by the video, Outland uses a very unique color palette, featuring beautiful landscapes and animated characters in bright neon colors. The main character chooses between light or dark powers, with blue or red indicating the powers being used. By using large hieroglyphics, players can gain also access to information about upcoming boss battles or hints to puzzles.

The gameplay seems like a hybrid of Frozenbyte’s Trine and Slick Entertainment’s N+ with a little bit of it’s own visual flare to top it off. Ubisoft has listed Outland for a 2011 release.

  3. This really reminds me a lot of Ikaruga. It will be interesting to see more of this. I’ll keep an eye out for this title. I just hope they make it in 1080p. Looks gorgeous.

  4. Looks great!

  5. Nice. But I wish they’d get on with finishing Dead Nation first.

  6. Meh.. looks kind of generic. Not trying to bash the game or anything, but I’m not amazed like some people.
