One of the many questions concerning the upcoming evolution into 3D gaming has always been: “What older titles will be given the 3D makeover?”
Well, Sony has decided that it will try and convert as many older titles as possible. However, the entire conversion process is apparently much more difficult than just giving a title the 3D component through development. According to Development Manager Simon Benson, the process isn’t a simple “one size fits all” fix, but an actual strenuous situation that takes time.
“Retrofitting 3D is actually harder than building 3D into a game from the outset. One of the big issues is that all of the game assets were designed to work with only one HD output. Being able to render them twice to make a 3D output can be a challenge.
“Also, the game interfaces are often designed to only work in 2D. The process used [to] covert the games varies greatly… so there isn’t really a ‘one size fits all’ solution.”
Which older titles would you like to see receive the 3D treatment?
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots =). I would like God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 to go 3D as well, but those games are already pushing the ps3 so I don’t know if it would be possible.

I think Sony is putting too many of their eggs in one basket. I doubt 3D will be anything special.
I agree TRF, 3D won’t take off until it’s full blown 3D off screen awesomeness movie style.
I think 3D will be as big as HD is right now. I mean, after playing for so long in high definition I can’t possibly go back to standard definition.
Most people don’t give a rat’s ass about 3D but I think that’s just because we haven’t really experienced it yet.
3D will be very popular in a couple of years or so.
I would like to see oblivion or fallout 3 in 3D. Oh yea!
@TRF its easy to pass judgment on something hat hasn’t happened yet. its been done to several other modern improvements to our gaming world. and mots of those enhancements turned out to be the most significant.(example: blue ray) i too don’t mind if i get 3d or not, but with other future things, I’m gonna wait to b4 giving my final judgment.
Flower in 3D would be amazing. That’s all I can think of really… 3D is purely for looks so go for one of the prettiest games there is and that’s what comes to mind.
I want to see God Of War 3, Metal Gear Solid Rising and 4, GT5, GTA IV in 3D

3d is going to bring to much fun. I would like to see games like resident evil in 3d or grand theft auto.
