UPDATE: Team Ico Collection due out in March?

Update: This has been confirmed via Japanese publication, Famitsu.

Over the weekend rumors about a possible Team ICO Collection for the PlayStation 3 gained a lot of steam after Walmart put up a placeholder page on its website. The listing detailed the title and even gave it a starting price of $39.82. This isn’t too surprising considering an HD collection of Shadows of Colossus and Ico is the number one requested collection Sony fans have been asking for. It seems the company with the inability to keep any secrets is going to deliver to the fans what they’re requesting — and it isn’t cross game chat.

According to Eurogamer, a retail source in Europe is also indicating the release of the collection at a starting point of £24.99. The rumored release date is March or April of next year, which may also point out that The Last Guardian may be shipping sometime around that date as well. It’s odd to think that God of War III and its collection released around the same point as well.

Earlier this month, we showed off comparison shots of a potential Ico Collection in HD and it definitely had its improvements over the original. As always, Sony is tight lipped on it all and giving the standard: “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed both of these titles during the PlayStation 2 era, I have every intention of picking up the collection upon release. I also highly suggest anyone else interested in playing two of the greatest single-player experiences ever created should do so as well. Expect to hear more this week at the Tokyo Game Show.

  1. I liked ICO alot but was in semi video game retirement for Shadow of Colossus. This will be a great chance to replay them….Only drawback is I said the same thing about the God of War collection and have yet to open it since I got it Christmas day last year.

  2. Well, I now know my next title to get.

  3. I’ll need to pick this up since I haven’t played either of the games.

  4. It is on course for a March/April 2011 release, but The Last Guardian isn’t due till Q4 2011 unfortunately.
