A new FAQ from Japanese magazine Famitsu – as translated by Adriasang – has revealed a few new details on Sony’s forthcoming PlayStation Vita handheld.

Apparently, the system won’t support Game Archive titles at the time of its launch – meaning no PlayStation and/or PC Engine/TurboGrafx games.

It’s claimed the system’s web browser will support Java, HTML5 and cookies, but will not support Flash at first. The FAQ suggests Flash support will be added later.

Sony is also looking into a method for allowing PSP save data to be carried over to Vita, whilst those looking to transfer images and images from the former device to the new portable powerhouse will have to do that either via PC or PlayStation 3.

Those unimpressed with the 3-5 hour battery time of the Vita will be happy to know that Sony is planning to release a Portable Charger, a battery which doubles the capacity of the devices internal battery.

PlayStation Vita launches in Japan on December 17, and across North America and Europe on February 22, 2012.
