Owner of a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play? Fan of EA’s biggest franchises? If so, this bit of news is bound to make you smile.

Those with the device can now head into its game launcher and grab the mobile versions of FIFA 12, Dead Space, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Need for Speed Shift and Hot Pursuit for free, for a limited time.

It was also announced that the Android version of FIFA 12 (1.6GB) will be available exclusively for the Xperia Play until January.

EA Interactive’s Glenn Roland said the game’s launch on the Sony platform offers fans “yet another compelling opportunity to play no matter where they are, anytime, anywhere.”

Back in October, Sony took full control of Sony Ericsson – a move which could affect future portable PlayStation products.
