As announced earlier in the week, Square Enix expected to see Final Fantasy green lit for the PlayStation Network in both Japan and North American within two days time. Two days later and the famed developer is announcing that Final Fantasy IX has officially been approved for distribution on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
In a “TweetVid” today, SE announced the news as they have been all week on the Twitter account. Apparently the release isn’t that far off and you should expect it some time in the near future.
Who else is excited to get their mitts on this game again?
This is the fourth FF game to become a PSone Classic?
VII, VIII, and now IX… so this would make it the third and one of the best Final Fantasy games as well. Vivi is just too cute :p
I just hate that I always feel tempted to buy these games even though I own them on disc. It’s just so convenient not having to swap discs when playing through more than one game at a time. I wish they’d somehow let us install the games to our HDD or have some sort of way to authorize our copies for one PSN download if it’s up on the store.

Never played it but you all seem to love it so i would give it a go if we get a release for the UK.
Oh, right… Final Fantasy Tactics :p I was just thinking the numbered ones then thought “but there’s only 3 anyway” so it didn’t make sense. Tactics is very amazing as well, if only for the music al$one. (wonder if anyone will get that haha)

Great game, this was my first FF game, wht the heck this was my first ever RPG, with No disrespect to other FF titles specially VII, for me FFIX is on top in FF series. I still have the original disc with me and BC PS3, i think i am going to replay it. and for guys who haven’t played it, i would suggest buy it and play, u will not regret it.

Cool Sweet I’ll check it out XD I’m kinda interested in Final Fantasy but I’ve only played a handful of them. I might be getting this once I get BFBC2 and this XD

@reigen: dood X is a PS2 game….even IF sony did start putting PS2 games on the PSN, it wouldnt be anytime soon
but @ FF9, i havent played this game yet…but i hear it ranks pretty high in the series…may buy this…but it would probably be a hard copy lol
the time for complete digital distribution hasnt come along yet 😀
