Final Fantasy XIII selling for $150 in Japan

With the release of Final Fantasy XIII just a day away in Japan, the game has started to sell out on online retailers.

Amazon.jp has withdrawn the game due to exceptional pre-orders, so you’ll now have to look elsewhere for the latest Square Enix goodness.

Following this demand, a number of cheeky and savvy purchasers have been selling their “spares” on Amazon.jp itself. 13,500 yen is the cheapest asking price, which is 4,250 yen more than the recommended retail price.

By the way, that’s 150 pretty US dollars, or 93 of the Queen’s British pounds. Worth the price of entry?

The real question is how much the exclusive Final Fantasy XIII themed PlayStation 3 is going to sell for when there’s a shortage. Plus, how much of a hardware boost can you see in the game’s release for Sony? One-hundred thousand? More? Place your bets please!
