Final Fantasy XIII selling well in North America

Square Enix has announced (tweeted) that Final Fantasy XIII has sold extremely well thus far in North America. This was one of the major concerns for the company as Japanese RPG’s have had a history of mediocre sales over the last four to five years.

Speaking from their Japanese Twitter account, Square Enix tweeted, “FF13 is doing very good in the west. FF13 has been selling better than any title in the series so far.”

This just goes to show you that the Final Fantasy brand still has the ability to move units off of retail shelves like it did in the past. Whether or not it sales 9+ million titles is another story though, but we’re sure it’ll chug along to a respectable amount.
