It’s no secret that one of the biggest issues previous PlayStation Portable owners had with Sony’s new PSPgo was the fact that UMD games were not compatible with the hand held. On top of that, Sony had no intention of creating a conversion process to allow you to transfer your hard disc media to the digital kind if you upgraded to the Go platform.

However, one third-party accessory creator is apparently inventing a UMD add-on for the PSPgo. According to a single inside source that spoke with CVG, third-party king, Logitech, is currently in the process of creating the device.

The source has insisted that the device will work, but of course, it will make the device a tad bulky. Considering the price point of the Go is $249.99, it would be hard to imagine that gamers would upgrade to the Go and purchase an accessory to play UMD titles when the option to pay $50 less for a PSP-3000 is the logical choice.

We’d like to know if you guys, the readers, consider this a smart addition by Logitech (if true) or if you think it’s pretty much setting itself up to fail. Let us know in the comment section below.

  1. ooooo Now this would be awesome! Weird of Sony letting them do it though…

  2. Hey, i’d probably buy it. Got a Go, and as much as i love it, there’s a few game that i want that’ll never come to the store, so…

  3. This is so dumb. Like the article says, why wouldn’t someone just buy a regular PSP?

  4. i would buy it

  5. The psp go is sexy!

  6. They should just create a program that lets you save your umd games to the psp mem. stick or hdd…why go through so much trouble to make the psp go bulkier when thats the exact opposite reason people are buying it for?
