Koei Tecmo has released a remastered hack-and-slash classic from the PS2 era for PS5 users. Starting today, players can play Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on modern platforms. Players can also try the game’s free demo before purchasing it.
The original Dynasty Warriors 3 was released on PS2 in 2001, with the Xtreme Legends expansion arriving the following year. The new remaster combines the original game and its expansion in one package
How Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered updates the classic experience
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered includes modernized controls and refined graphics. The game has been recreated in Unreal Engine 5, giving the classic a visual overhaul. Features from the original game, including local two-player co-op, return alongside new additions. One of these additions, Evasion, lets players dodge enemy attacks and trigger a “Just Evasion” counterattack. Players can also use the “Perfect Power Guard” move to deflect enemy attacks and launch counterattacks to stun them.
It also includes more than 40 officers from the original roster, alongside Ziluan, the protagonist of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Players can also forge customized weapons using the Weapon Fusion feature. A post-launch update will add online two-player co-op. Players can switch between normal and classic settings to adjust the new features, allowing players to retain a more classic experience.
The game is available in two editions:
- Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Standard Edition ($39.99)
- Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) – Includes full game, 42 DW3 retro costumes, Six Secret Teachings, 42 weapons for fusion, officer concept art collection, Wind Scroll and Tiger Amulet
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is available now on PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. PS Plus Premium members can also access PS5/PS Portal cloud streaming where supported.
