Recently, the biggest trend for publishers is to throw together either a very elaborate or mediocre Collector’s Edition for each new title coming up. Some of them, such as the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition, are worth purchasing, while others like the Tron Collector’s Edition is probably worth a pass.
Sadly, when Team Bondi and Rockstar announced that L.A. Noire wouldn’t be receiving the C.E. treatment, I was a little disappointed as Rockstar has done a fantastic job with its C.E.’s in the past.
“There won’t be any special edition release of L.A. Noire, just the preorder bonus content with certain retailers,” the firm said on its blog. “Also as mentioned, all that content will be made available as DLC after the game comes out.”
Surprising as it is, it’s something we’re just going to have to deal with. Ah well, at least we know that in a couple of months we’ll finally have this 1940s thriller in our hands on May 17th, 2011. Prepare to start solving crimes.
Rockstar has enough money I guess. I’m not getting this one anyhow.
